Going With the Flow Can Land You in The Unemployment Line

Going with the flow at  work, will surely get you a label of being easy to get along with, but it can also land you in the unemployment line.  Doing what everyone else does at work is easy and makes you a part of the group, until management needs a scapegoat.

Management only has to punish one employee for surfing the net outside of his work duties for everyone else in the department to get the message.  What if that one person is you?  What will you tell your family?  "I was just going with the flow"?

It only takes one person to be reprimanded for returning to their work station late from lunch.  No big deal you think, everybody takes 10 or 15 minutes more for lunch.  The lines to purchased food are long, and it's hard to get back with-in an hour.

You wonder why your supervisor is picking on you.  Of course you were just going with the flow!

The world series is coming up and everyone in the office is taking off early to attend the game.  You decide that you will go with the flow and do the same.  What your co-workers failed to mention was they made arrangements with their supervisors and came in early for 3 days straight to make up for the time off on game day.  Of course you were just going with the flow and departed the office when most other baseball fans left on that sunny afternoon.

You get the picture.  Going with the flow isn't always best.  And co-workers don't always reveal all the details involved with their actions.  Cover your assets, create your own flow.
